South Wairarapa District Council has supported a Head Start Proposal to the Government for a Wellington region-wide unitary authority.
The proposal is supported by Hutt City Council, Porirua City Council and Wellington City Council.
A second proposal was submitted separately for a Wairarapa unitary authority supported by Carterton District Council and Masterton District Council. More information is available on those councils’ respective websites about their proposal.
Decisions by central government will be determined in September and information will be shared with the community when it is available.
