Funding rounds open now for your applications

Sept 2026

Great ideas deserve a chance to grow, and the Council’s latest funding round applications are open now to help them do just that.

Community groups and individuals are invited to apply for grants now to fund community initiatives, creative projects and sports travel for rural rangatahi and tamariki. Projects can be all sizes, large or small, to qualify for funding.

The funding climate is increasingly competitive and if there are applications for strong projects or initiatives in this round, it could lead to all funding being allocated so now is the time to apply.

The Council distributes funds from a wide range of sources, including grants from Central Government for creative arts and sporting travel in rural areas.

  • Creative NZ Creative Communities Scheme
  • Featherston Community Board
  • Greytown Community Board – funding dates have yet to be confirmed
  • Martinborough Community Board
  • Māori Partnership Committee – opening 17 September
  • Sports NZ Rural Fund
