Often seen around the Square are local avid vintage car restorers Hugh Hunter and Bob Cumming in their 1935 Rover 10 and 1936 Morris 8 – one of three owned by Hugh. Bob and Hugh are highlighting Daffodil Day motor show on 23 August 2026 at Masterton Motorplex from 10am to 2pm.

Carefully restored vintage cars, classic cars, hot rods, motorbikes, vintage engines, tractors and modern vehicles will be on display with fun for kids riding the barrel train and everyone enjoying the food carts.
Bob shared that we have many members of the Wairarapa Vintage Car Club of New Zealand living in Martinborough and says they are happy to be part of this great cause again this year – all funds raised go to the Cancer Society which will stay in the Wairarapa. Over 1,000 vehicles participated last year rising $7,500.
