Martinborough Star

By Lyle Griffiths Aug 2026

I would just like to inform you that change is in the air, and I am standing down as the editor of the Martinborough Star.

I am grateful to all contributors who have regularly provided articles for the Star. It is our community paper and each one of you has been extremely supportive.  It is that community spirit that makes the Martinborough Star unique.

We now have a new editor, Megan Gillies.

After living and working overseas mostly in Asia for 20+ years, Megan has settled in Martinborough with her daughter Joy who attends Kuranui College.  Megan’s other daughter Rose lives and works in Wellington. Megan has had a long association with Martinborough, with her father growing up here and knows our region well.

Megan divides her time between Martinborough and Ngawi, where her partner Steve lives and where they both enjoy fishing and diving. Megan plays twilight bowls and has recently purchased a home and ¼ acre section which she is busy landscaping.

Megan will connect quickly with the community being full of energy and is excited to be taking on her new role.
