Meet the people backing Martinborough Business

Nov 2026

Every thriving town has people quietly making things happen. In Martinborough, that’s the Martinborough Business Association (MBA) committee: local business owners volunteering their time to champion businesses across our town.

Conor Kershaw (Co-Chair) is the fourth-generation owner of Pain & Kershaw (Four Square and Mitre 10), serving Martinborough for over 150 years. He sits on several boards working to make Martinborough a better place for business, and if there’s an opportunity to support local businesses, Conor will be there. The perfect fit as Co-Chair.

Janice McGee (Co-Chair) leads the MBA alongside Conor Kershaw. A Senior Commercial Broker at Rothbury Insurance Brokers, she brings 25 years’ insurance experience and has called Martinborough home for the past 10 years.

Dudley-Anne Hill is a passionate hospitality entrepreneur and community advocate. She owns and operates Karahui Wine Bar & Restaurant, Tōhi Gin Room & Eatery and The Chambers Apartments, and co-owns Kitchener’s Café.

Kate Kerr is co-owner of Discover Wairarapa, looking after around 40 holiday homes. A big believer in community, she loves connecting with other local businesses and working together to keep Martinborough vibrant.

Nickie Sheehan owns Trio Accounting and, after 20 years in Martinborough, wouldn’t live or work anywhere else. Outside work, you’ll find her hiking, working out or heading towards coffee.

Nicola Morris spent over 20 years working in the Wairarapa, which persuaded her to return to Martinborough after 14 years overseas. She owns three small businesses, including a community newspaper and a brewing supplies store, and is passionate about putting non-hospo businesses front and centre.

Shontelle Coley proudly owns and operates Rumè on Kitchener Street, welcoming locals and visitors while contributing to Martinborough’s vibrant, supportive community.

Sheryl Rooderkirk is Branch Manager of ICIB Brokerweb Wellington, owner of Smart Hub NZ and Social Kitchen Wairarapa, and creator of Martinborough Women in Business. Off duty, she enjoys family adventures, fishing and travel.

Nicola Rockinger co-owns Colombo Martinborough with her husband Thomas since 2018, giving our wineries a strong voice on the committee. The family has called Martinborough home since 2016 and feels lucky raising their three young daughters in this special little community.

From hospitality, retail and wineries to trades and professional services, our committee reflects the full mix of businesses that make Martinborough tick. These are people just like you, running businesses and backing their town. Come and join the MBA. Get in touch at info@martinboroughnz.com
