Martinborough Access Reference Group

July 2026

For those who have not heard of the Martinborough Access Reference Group (MARG) before, the group is made up of local volunteers working together to develop ideas and recommendations for the South Wairarapa District Council to consider and consult on as part of future Long Term Planning (LTP). The groups contributors are Conor Kershaw (chair), Dudley Anne Hill, Jo Gascione, Josh Hawkins, Nathan Fenwick, Phil McArthur, Richard Rooney, Michael Honey, Tim Smith, & James Brodie.

Areas of focus for the MARG are how locals and visitors alike move and interact with our beautiful part of the world now and in the future. Areas that have been identified by the committee and are being worked on currently are, Cycling & Walking, Heavy Traffic Movement, SH53 Termination, Square Traffic and Shared Spaces use.  There is plenty of opportunity to input in both the MARG process and later with the LTP. The first place we would love some feedback is filling in a simple survey that can be reached at the QR code below. We will also be joining in with the Community Board drop-in sessions. Details below.

You will be able to share any ideas you may have, see some of the thinking around where the MARG is progressing their ideas. The goal of this session is to capture wider feedback and make it as interactive as possible.
