Percy Jackson and the lightning thief is the amazing first book in a series about Half-blood Camp for kids. The camp is only for those kids who have one parent who is a Greek God and one parent who is a normal person. This means they have one very powerful parent and a not so powerful everyday parent, both of which can make life tough for them. If you like stories about monsters, gods and modern day life all mixed together, then this will be the book for you. If you have seen the film, then read the book, as there is so much more in it.

These are about a 12 year old girl called Ruby in an everyday town called Twinford. Pretty normal, right?
