Kuranui Continues to Strengthen its Relationships With Local Primary Schools
Kuranui College continues to strengthen its relationships with local primary schools. This term, many of the region’s schools have taken part in Kuranui’s Outdoor Education Academy programme and the college recently opened its doors to primary school students when it welcomed Year 8 students to sample a ‘Day in the Life of a Kuranui Student’. In the last couple of weeks, the college has also invited Year 7 and 8 students to take part in an introductory science workshop.
“Kuranui College has specialist teachers who are able to share subject-specific expertise,” explained Kuranui College Principal Geoff Shepherd. “The college is encouraging local primary schools to tap into this subject-specific knowledge and resources such as the science and technology labs and outdoor education facilities and equipment. The introduction of intensive day-long workshops is a good practical way of being able to do this.
Kuranui Junior College Dean, Gina Smith, will also be visiting South Wairarapa primary schools to enroll students for 2013 as follows:
13 Sept at South Featherston School 8.30am-11am
14 Sept at Kahutara School 9am-11am
14 Sept Martinborough School 1pm-3pm
Please contact your school to book a time or alternatively an appointment can be made at Kuranui College between 18-20 September. Please call the Kuranui office on 06 304 9116 or email office@kuranui-college.school.nz.
If you are unable to make any of these slots, please feel free to contact the college for an alternative day and time.
