The good weather is just about with us after such a wet winter. I must thank all the people who have given me the results – the Grumpy’s, the 9 and 18 hole ladies and also Ian Henderson for his skill and knowledge.

Guy Walmsley won a night out at Parehua recently at a function of about 120 people at the Westpac Stadium.

Finals of the Club champs are to be played on Saturday 29th and the Lamb and Chardonnay tourney on Sunday has a full field of 32 teams of four as well as a waiting list four.
Vice club captain Ro Griffiths won the Order of Merit, well done Ro.

The weather played its part for the Cancer tourney yet again with it being cancelled and will now be held at a later date.

I was talking to Darren the green keeper and he has found the most unusual but successful way of catching fish; I really was quite impressed however he suggests that all fishermen not try it.

Now the Grumpy’s have been getting bigger and bigger. Ian Henderson has won the day’s competition two weeks in a row so perhaps he should look at his own handicap and well done to left-hander Ray Lind who finally broke a hundred. The jugs are averaging two a week; no names being divulged at this stage but there are three in line for the end of year award.

The ladies haven’t had the best of luck with the weather but have managed to keep up to date with club champs and Club Captain Mary Desbonnets is looking very tanned and bronzed after her recent overseas holiday.

Thursday club just keeps on getting stronger and better with up to 46 playing on some days and it just goes to show by the pic how much dedication and concentration goes into playing golf.

Good golfing Kevin Campbell
