David Kershaw honoured by Rotary
Anyone who has lived in Martinborough for more than a short time will know how much David Kershaw does for and offers to our community. When there is a public event, a community need, or any undertaking that will enhance life in our town and district for individuals and the wider public alike, David will be there.
It is no surprise therefore, that David was recently honoured by Rotary International for his service to the community by being made a Paul Harris Fellow. This award is named for the founder of Rotary, which was begun in Chicago in 1905, and Paul Harris Fellows were established in his honour in 1957.
As in David’s case, the award can be made to a non-Rotarian, to recognise people from the wider community who clearly share the same values as Rotary. David’s certificate states that a person is named a Paul Harris Fellow “in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations between the peoples of the world.”
I can think of no more deserving person in our community to receive such an accolade. Well done, David.
