The town is certainly buzzing getting into the spirit of Spring. Guests of honour our Mayor Her Worship Adrienne Staples and John Hayes MP. Entertainment by MADCAPS and Shane Cator and food by Providore – 16 September 5-7pm. Joyce Hogg is icing a special celebration chocolate cake. All proceeds to the Town Hall Restoration Fund.
Council have a new Transport Focus Group under the leadership of Cr Mike Gray. With some form of amalgamation in the offing it is important to be pro-active in this area.
We are focusing on all types of Land Transport, including keeping the Special Purpose Road category we have for the Ngawi – Cape Palliser Road which has continual maintenance to prevent further erosion from the sea. The maintenance subsidy is 100% and 75% for construction.
With no new seal extensions planned due to the subsidy being dropped we have to provide and maintain an affordable safe roading network for our ratepayers and residents. More as we progress along.
