Community Board notes

March 14, 2012 March 2012 No Comments

The Community Board has approved $15,000 for playground equipment. Plumped up by the council’s $10,000, the amount will buy 3 wonderful
pieces of equipment!
Most of the work has been done by Jo Guscott who has been working closely with the parents and children in finding their preferences.
Its lovely to see the playground so well used every time I drive past.
So watch and see whats going on there!

Following their approach to the Board $500 has been donated to Victim Support Wairarapa. We considered this a really good cause, especially with this last awful accident with the balloons.
Two tables and chairs are to be ordered for Tora. One for the surfers area, and one for the campers area. Just waiting for quotes to come back for those.
The dog run area will be up and going very soon. This will be on the paper road between Weld Street and Fairy Road. Just waiting to put fences and two gates up.
And lastly my wish list; I’d love the pool to have solar heating and a good cover by next summer. However there is a worry it won’t get used enough to warrant the cost! So we would be keen to hear from interested parties. If we extend the use and heat of the pool, would you come and do laps before or after work? Please tell us what you would like us to do?

I know people are keen for a swimming club. With news that we have the highest rates in the world of drownings in the Western World it could be good time to help rectify the situation. Or shall we just leave as it is?
So please give us your opinions
