There are a few things that have stood out in my mind during the month of August; a few visitors to the course and one club in particular opened their email bookings on a Friday for the following weekend and was closed within 25 minutes full.

We had the left and rights tournament which was spoiled by rain during the afternoon round and then being called off. The president of the Lefties Association Richard Davison who hails from Rangiora attended as well as Don Buchanan a life member from Taumarunui. One of the highlights of the tournament for me was a ‘leftie’ playing a hook shot on the Par 3 #8 hole; it cleared the high trees by the green keeper’s shed and ended up on the 9th tee.
