Four Square winners

Michelle Margrain, pictured with daughters Francesca & Adele and Four Square owner David Kershaw. Michelle won an all expenses 2 night stay at Huka Lodge to the value of $6,500 in the Four Square Birthday competition. Other winners were David Vaughan and Rebecca Bird who picked up $100 Grocery vouchers.

P&K Mitre 10 in Martinborough has been named 2012 Trade Store of the Year at Mitre 10 New Zealand’s annual awards dinner held on July 29.

The store was chosen by the judges for its excellent service to trade customers in Martinborough and the region, out-performing other Mitre 10 and Mitre 10 MEGA stores throughout New Zealand.

Store owner Conor Kershaw said it was full credit to Scott Madden and his Trade Team. “They do a great job of looking after our Trade and DIY customers. We pride ourselves on having great Team and store to serve South Wairarapa for all there building supplies needs”.

There are a few things that have stood out in my mind during the month of August; a few visitors to the course and one club in particular opened their email bookings on a Friday for the following weekend and was closed within 25 minutes full.
 
We had the left and rights tournament which was spoiled by rain during the afternoon round and then being called off. The president of the Lefties Association Richard Davison who hails from Rangiora attended as well as Don Buchanan a life member from Taumarunui. One of the highlights of the tournament for me was a ‘leftie’ playing a hook shot on the Par 3 #8 hole; it cleared the high trees by the green keeper’s shed and ended up on the 9th tee.
