Accredited Visiting Service

October 8, 2011 October 2011 Comments Off on Accredited Visiting Service

Are you over 65 and would you like more company?
We can help! Or perhaps you know someone in your community who is lonely or isolated and would appreciate a regular visitor.

The main purpose of the service is to reduce loneliness and isolation for older people living in their own homes. This can be due to a number of things including loss of hearing or eyesight, reduced mobility, illness, and partners or friends passing away.

The Accredited Visiting Service has some wonderful caring people who visit older people living in their own homes. Trained volunteers visit for about an hour a week and enjoy a chat, a walk or a shared activity. Volunteer visitors are trained and supported in their role as visitors and they also benefit from new friendships and being involved in their communities.

If you know someone who would like to receive a regular visitor please telephone Erin on 06 377 0066 or email avs@woops.org.nz
