BBC in Martinborough

May 10, 2013 May 2013 No Comments

An enthusiastic group continue to meet every Third Thursday of the month for a Blackboard Concert (BBC). Originally started at Jaq’s Bar over 4 years ago by Ineke and David Kershaw, the venue shifted to Est before finding its present home in the Lions Den next to the Medical centre.
An amazing selection of local talent aged from 10yrs to octogenarians, have showcased their singing abilities, instrument playing and more over the years. Each performer(s) does 2 items with a chance for another if time allows; evenings often finish with group jamming/singing.
Duets were popular last month and they included 10-year-old Florence accompanied by her father Shayne Cater, Bethany and her father David Patten, and Jane Jackson and Paul Mason ended the evening with a great impromptu number.
To spice things up this winter the group is planning to spruce up their best numbers and hold an evening in a more public venue – more details later.
Meanwhile anyone is welcome at the Lions’ Den on the Third Thursday of the month from 7.30pm (8pm start) audience welcome.
Contact Ineke and David Kershaw for more information and/or if you would like an email reminder: oldham@xtra.co.nz
