Centenary Cabaret Ball

The happy ball patrons

Continuation of the celebrations for the 100 year birthday of the Martinborough Town Hall, included the Centenary Cabaret Ball held on Saturday 22nd September.

The event was a great success with all 150 guests making an exceptional effort to embrace the theme of the ‘Last Century’. The evening kicked off at 6pm with canapés and bubbly, followed by an amazing main course and a selection of sweets available throughout the night.

The ‘blind’ charity auction, with the expertise of Graham Howie controlling the hammer, was well supported and has enabled us to donate a cheque of over $4,500 to the Town Hall committee.

The endless entertainment began with Conway Jeune, and Wellington band “The Noodles” providing fantastic live music until the wee hours.

We would like to take this opportunity to once again thank all of our sponsors, who not only gave kind donations but also offered expertise and equipment to help make this event a success.

A big thank you to Hugh and Jill from Hunter Shuttles who were readily available to see all our partygoers home safely, Martinborough Lions and Lionesses contributing their time as bar and wait staff and in the kitchen, and the Fire Service who provided security.

Photos from the evening are available to view and purchase from Libby Gent at www.elizabethrose.co.nz. Thanks to everyone who supported this event, and seeing the ‘Grand Old Lady’ into the next 100.

Rebecca, Leah and Amanda.
