Wharekaka News
We have been lying in wait for the warmer weather here at Wharekaka, but have kept ourselves busy and entertained while in hibernation.
Over the past couple of months we have had the wonderfully entertaining JNX band back. Our cuppa for a cause was well attended with her worship the Mayor attending as well as our MP John Hayes, I have started up a trolley shop so residents are now able to do their own shopping meaning they can keep a bit more of their independence.
We had some very energetic line-dancers come in to give us a demonstration. The Pirinoa school band came to give us a taste of their wonderful talents. We have dug over the veggie patch and started putting the veggies in and will carry on with that in October.
What’s coming up for Wharekaka, great weather we hope? The Martinborough School Kapa Haka group is coming in to give a demonstration of their talents. We will be going to the School fair and flower show. Blind week in October so we will be fundraising by making cupcakes to sell, money raised will go to the blind society. We will continue with our gardening.
