Martinborough Friendship Club
Bees were the subject for our guest speaker Mr. Ro Griffiths at the recent Friendship Club meeting.
The life of a bee is most interesting and my personal view is that bees, water and fire are life’s most precious and essential items for existing. Those attending the meeting appreciated learning the work that a bee does in its short life.
Club numbers have been down at meetings this year. Those attending mostly long term residents enjoying a meal together and being able to have a ‘catch up’.
For some it is almost laughable to pay $3 for home made soup, cake, slices and tea or coffee. That is the reason we need the numbers to be able to reimburse those who make the soup etc. To be self supporting numbers are needed to provide that.
New residents are made welcome when we meet at the Presbyterian Church Hall together with our faithful long term residents on the last Monday of each month. There is no joining fee and the club is non political or religious.
