Catch the Kiwi Spirit – Become a Pukaha Mount Bruce Volunteer
Thanks to all the fantastic work that is taking place at Pukaha Mount Bruce, visitor numbers are on an upward trend, so a new initiative is underway to recruit and train volunteer hosts to help look after the many thousands of people who are visiting the Wildlife Centre.
This new role involves meeting and greeting visitors to the centre, informing them about tours which are available, which areas they can visit and feeding times throughout the day, as well as answering questions and helping visitors to find their way around the centre.
“Although Pukaha is also keen to hear from people interested in helping with the Restoration Project, this new role shows the emphasis the Wildlife Centre is placing on looking after its visitors and ensuring that anyone spending time at the centre has a warm, friendly and informative experience when they visit,” explained Volunteer Coordinator Catherine Rossiter-Stead.
“This will help to spread the word and encourage people to visit us again, which ultimately helps to fund the centre and keep the Pukaha forest the way it should be.”
Anyone interested in becoming a Pukaha volunteer should either check out http://www.pukaha.org.nz/volunteer, email volunteer@pukaha.org.nz or call Catherine on 021 047 1723.
