Loud shirt day

October 10, 2011 October 2011 No Comments

Kahutara School teachers enthusiastically joined in. Tracy Robinson, Charmaine Taplin and Lynda Strange with Olivia Clark.

Kahutara School held a mufti day to raise money for Deaf children.
on Thursday 15th Sept ( 1 day early as National Loud Shirt Day is on the 16th when most of our school were performing at the Wairarapa Cultural festival) As you are aware Olivia Clark is a student at our school and she is fortunate to have 2 cochlear implants. At our school we know how lucky Olivia is and so we are happy to have a fundraiser to “Help deaf kids have a voice”
After the “ear shape” drawn on the concrete was full of money Olivia said
” Thank you Kahutara School for bringing money to help children like me to have a voice.
I am so lucky that I can hear…
*My Mum and Dad tell me that they love me!
* My Brothers and sister calling out for me.
* my friends and cousins playing with me.

Today you raised $150 to help someone else, so thank you”
