Kahutara pupils mark the magic number

Kahutara School numbers continue to climb with the hundred pupil mark being reached at the beginning of the term. Due to the roll increase the Kahutara School Board of Trustees will begin a fifth classroom from the beginning of Term Three 2012. This has enabled us to spread Rooms 2,3, and 5 children to create much smaller classes which is just wonderful for their individual learning.

Bulls 4 schools
The Kahutara Parents Committee Heaviest Calf Competition, calf Rearing Scheme, is running again this year and we are asking rural people to take part by ‘raising a calf’. Please keep a look out for any suitable Friesian or Friesian/Beef X bull calves born after the 1st July.

This is an on-going fundraiser to enable our children to keep up to date with the ever changing technology available in the world today! So to ensure that our children have the best possible start before college, please ‘raise a calf’ for the school this season.

If anyone has a suitable four day old bull calf available, that I can send to another school calf rearer, please let me know.Ring or email me on 3086212 or therose.family@xtra.co.nz if you either have a calf that we could pass on or you are willing to rear a calf for the competition. There will be some great prizes up for grabs!
