Home SWEET Home Care has celebrated five years of helping people feel comfortable and supported in their own homes, including 18 months serving the Wairarapa community.
Founded in Whanganui in April 2021 by Registered Nurse Nicky Pearce, the business began with two carers and a simple purpose: to provide compassionate, dependable care that makes everyday life easier for clients and their families.
That same approach underpins its Wairarapa service today, combining the experience of an established award-winning business with a local team committed to helping people at home.
Now Nicky is putting down roots here herself. Having built the service from her Whanganui base, she is moving to South Wairarapa to be closer to family and become part of the community.
With more than 30 years in health care, including nursing and midwifery, Nicky sees supporting people in their own homes as a privilege. Familiar surroundings, personal routines and connections with loved ones can make a real difference when health needs change.
Leading the Wairarapa team is nurse coordinator Luci, who lives in the region and brings extensive experience in palliative care. Her local knowledge and clinical experience provide reassuring support for clients, families and carers.
Home SWEET Home Care offers dementia support, companionship, personal care, respite for family carers, recovery support following surgery or hospitalisation, and end of life care.
Help starts with a minimum two-hour visit and extends to overnight or round the clock care, guided by a Registered Nurse’s assessment and personalised care plan.
Life is busy, and balancing everyday commitments with caring for someone can be challenging. Whether you need temporary help or ongoing support, the team is here to make life a little easier and give families peace of mind.
