Parkinson’s Wairarapa has been pretty quiet during the winter months, with only our regular activities (singing, exercises, ping pong and counterpunch) taking place.
Just as Parkinson’s symptoms differ between individuals, so do the different activities. People get different amounts of benefit and enjoyment, but the common bond is camaraderie and support.
The red tulip is the international symbol of Parkinson’s and to embrace this beautiful flower we will again have a presence at the Longbush Cottage Tulip Festival (longbushcottage.co.nz). Our café will be providing refreshments to the garden visitors from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th September and Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th October.
All proceeds from this café go towards keeping our activities going and supporting those living positively with Parkinson’s.
For further information about Parkinson’s support in the Wairarapa, please contact us (wai.parkinsons@gmail.com) to get a copy of our bi-monthly newsletter or follow us on Facebook/ParkinsonsWairarapa.
