August is your opportunity to try something new

July 2026

This August, winter in Martinborough takes on a new rhythm with the return of Pour & Explore for its second year. Thanks to overwhelming community support for the 2025 pilot, this event promises to be even bigger.

More than 70 events are scheduled throughout the village and the surrounding region. The premise is simple: get out, try something you haven’t done before, and discover a different side of the place you call home.

The 2025 pilot provided a genuine economic boost for local businesses and generated a buzz around town that lasted into spring. The Martinborough Business Association has capitalised on this momentum, attracting more businesses, artists, and creatives, and creating more reasons to venture out.

The event kicks off on Saturday, August 1, with “Sequins & Superheroes” at the Waihinga Centre – a live music night featuring Sweet Mix Kids and BB Malloy, that sets a playful tone for the month ahead.

The month-long programme includes wine tastings, winemaker dinners, truffle menus, and degustation lunches, along with creative workshops in watercolour, textiles, and papercraft. There will also be cooking classes, cocktail masterclasses, book events, live music, and a creator’s market. For those who enjoy the outdoors, there are opportunities for coastal hikes and stargazing evenings with wine under our stunning dark sky. There is truly something for everyone to enjoy this August.

Every ticket purchased and every dinner booked helps support our village. You can view the full programme at pourandexplore.co.nz.
