At 10am on 21st June Mass will be celebrated with Cardinal John and Bishop Paul attending. Everyone is invited. Buses will be going from the South Wairarapa to Masterton.
Mass is followed by a Shared Finger Food lunch in the Chanel College Assembly Hall.
Claire Hills book outlining the 150 years is also being launched.
The first Catholic mass was celebrated in the Wairarapa at Marori at the village of Moikau Village of Moikau in 1845. Moikau is down the coast on the way to Cape Palliser.
Following the lunch there is a play about Father Antoine Hallwachs, Society of Mary, arriving 150 years ago, contrasted with images of the Catholic Parish 150 years later in 2026. A concert from all the different groups within the parish follows. Expected finishing time is 3pm.
