On 27 April, the new Ruamāhanga trapline volunteers set out twenty DOC200 traps near the river just south of Martinborough.
The group is targeting mustelids and especially stoats, but expect to catch mainly rats and hedgehogs. If anyone is local to Martinborough and has spare rabbit meat from time to time, please contact Jane Lenting on swbg@xtra.co.nz Rabbit is the gold standard lure for traps.
