Featherston Vinyl Club

By Gary Shaw May 2026

Have you got a record collection that hasn’t seen the light of day for some time? Miss the days of digging in crates and finding that rare gem or old classic you’d forgotten about? There’s a club in Pae Tū Mōkai Featherston that celebrates the art of the 12-inch and the 45, regularly spinning vinyl and encouraging anyone to come on down and do the same. Check out the link below to find out more information about us and when we’re next spinning.

This month we’re proud to be taking part in the Booktown Sunday Session on the 8th of May. Celebrate Featherston Booktown Karukatea Festival and NZ Music Month with a free all-Kiwi music session by the FVC DJs at the Featherston Memorial RSA. In 2020, following the cult pioneer of the Dunedin sound Shayne Carter’s massively successful event where he shared tales from his autobiography Dead People I Have Known, we spun some Kiwi favourites and rarities. This year, the Sunday Session follows directly after The Clean: In A Dream Life You Need A Rubber Soul 2.30pm event where Robert Scott will be in conversation with poet and journalist Richard Langston.

The FVC will take any opportunity to share their love of records old and new, so get in touch if you would like us to come spin for your event or venue by visiting us at tinyurl.com/gofvc
