Brought to you by: The New Zealand Antarctic Society: The Antarctic Film Festival – Carterton, Wairarapa/Hastings

An unforgettable evening of storytelling from the coldest place on Earth. The New Zealand Antarctic Society is proud to invite you to a presentation by Ken Livingston and a curated selection of captivating short films from the heart of Antarctica.

The films blend stunning documentary footage, curated by award winning filmmaker Anthony Powell, that reveals the continent’s stark beauty, unforgiving conditions, climate change, and penguin antics with stories captured by inventive and funny entries from the Winter International Film Festival of Antarctica’s 48-Hour Challenge, an annual showcase of creativity and resilience from those who winter-over on the Ice.

Before the films, hear from Ken Livingston with 20 Aspects of Antarctica. Ken first visited Antarctica as a tourist in 2000 and has been passionate about the place ever since. He deepened that passion and knowledge by completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Antarctic Studies last year and he is the Canterbury Branch Chair of the New Zealand Antarctic Society.
