South Wairarapa Rebus Club

By David Woodhams Mar 2026

The South Wairarapa Rebus Club opened the new year on 30 January with a lunch at the Gladstone Inn. Our next meeting, the Annual General Meeting, is scheduled for 10:00 am on Friday 27 February.

Then a generous morning tea provided by the outgoing committee will be followed by our guest speaker, Linda Gibbs, a long-standing Rebus member and lifetime Greytown resident, who has been invited back to tell us more about Greytown in the 1940s. Last time she told us her stories and memories about the west side of Main Street. This time she will be discussing the buildings and history of the east side.

The South Wairarapa Rebus Club meets at 9:45am on the fourth Friday of each month at the South Wairarapa Working Men’s Club in Greytown. The club prides itself on the quality of its guest speakers. Reviews of previous talks are included in newsletters which can be found on the club’s website at southwairaraparebus.com. Retirees are invited to attend a meeting as a visitor. Introduce yourself at the door from the West Street carpark, or contact John Reeve on 021 560 461 for more information.
