Comment on letter to the editor
Public scrutiny of the South Wairarapa District Council is entirely appropriate. But dismissing procurement processes, infrastructure planning and community consultation as non-achievements overlooks the complexity and regulatory burden faced by councils. In this area, progress can be incremental, but is still progress. Dismissing it as failure or criticising efforts for informed debates on issues that impact Martinborough, ignores the Council’s determination to work in partnership with locals.
