Each month we seem to attract more people and MORE clothes. There were a few months when we broke even, as many clothes as came in, went out.
But for January and February we are accumulating a lot of surplus and it is all good quality clothing. Time to bite the bullet and send a few more bags to the Resource Centre.
Now I stopped shopping for clothes in 2019 in a bid to help the planet and I was doing well but clothing swap started. Funny the thought of not buying new meant I could, without guilt have more clothes. But I now have a problem, my drawers won’t shut properly and I need to do a cull. Trouble is I like them all or they have sentimental value, e.g. purchasing them on an over-seas trip. So I force myself to empty the drawer and only put back in as much as is reasonable, yet I really want to keep them all. Oh well, this is life!
The next Clothing Swap: March 21st at St Andrew’s Church Hall, Dublin St. 10am -1pm
