Brackenridge Country Retreat & Spa has announced the sale of the iconic Wairarapa property, with new owners set to take over at the end of August 2026. This marks the conclusion of 26 remarkable years of hospitality for the award-winning retreat.
The current owners are committed to celebrating Brackenridge’s legacy with “The Final Season” – a year of memorable events and exclusive accommodation packages designed to give guests one last opportunity to experience the property’s renowned hospitality.
“After more than a quarter of a century welcoming guests to our 14-acre countryside sanctuary, we are preparing to pass the torch to new custodians,” said Shelley Major, Managing Director.
“We are determined to go out on a high, celebrating everything that has made Brackenridge special to so many people over the years.”
THE BRACKENRIDGE ART SHOW: A FITTING SWAN SONG
The retreat will host the Brackenridge Art Show from 14-16 August 2026 as a fitting finale to its tenure. The event will feature a ticketed preview evening for up to 120 guests, offering an intimate celebration of art, wine, and the Wairarapa’s creative community.
The Art Show will be part of Martinborough’s Pour & Explore festival thoughout August.
