Musings from the Martinborough Business Association (MBA)

By Conor and Janice Dec 2025

Merry Christmas from the MBA committee. We would like to thank our members for their support over the past year.

We often don’t celebrate the good work the committee does and there are often many hours of mahi that goes on in the background on behalf of the business community.

Looking back on the year we first need to give a big thankyou to Alan Hogg who was our chair for the past five years. Alan shifted to Greytown this year and handed the reins over to co-chairs Conor Kershaw and Janice Macgee. Alan will always be a friend of the MBA and we wish him well on his journey into studying law.

The other highlight must be the successful launch of the Pour and Explore event held over the month of August. It was put together at rapid pace and exceeded our expectations. As with all first attempts there was lots of learnings and we are pleased to say it will be back again next year, bigger and better than before.

The MBA is now working closer with the other associations across Wairarapa under the umbrella arrangement with Business Wairarapa. It provides exceptional value for local members and there is more we can do to leverage this relationship.

We look forward to bringing back the Business After Five (BA5) sessions in the coming year. These will prove a great opportunity to network and celebrate locals supporting locals.

On behalf of the MBA we wish Martinborough businesses and the wider community every success for summer and for 2026.
