For those of you who are new to town MADCAPs (Martinborough and District Company of Amateur Players) is our local theatre society.
We have been around since 1982 staging musical/variety shows utilising the talents of local performers on stage and volunteers to work on technical and backstage aspects of productions.
Over the years we have delivered successful productions with a wide variety of themes at our great town hall. You can check out some information on our Facebook page.
You might have noticed that we have not staged any performances for the past few years. The Covid interruption and the work on the town hall impacted on our ability to stage productions. More recently the problem has been attracting performers and production support.
We have a small but enthusiastic committee but need to grow a wider group of supporters and budding talent who want to get involved in theatre. Theatre productions rely on people.
MADCAPs provides a friendly, relaxed, and supportive environment for anyone who wants to “give it a go” on stage or learning the backstage working of staging a show.
If this sounds interesting to you, why not pop along to our AGM on Wednesday 27 th August at 7pm at Circus Cinema. A topic of discussion at the AGM will be “what can we do to build support to deliver shows in the future”. Consider this an open invitation to anyone who wants to keep the MADCAPs flag flying high.
