Help Lions, Help Your Community

Aug 2025

The local Lions Club’s needs some support. All our members are getting older, and we are not able to do the working bees we used to. Our old bodies are not keeping up with our mantra, to serve the community.

Firewood is a classic example. We often give wood to those in need, but we don’t have enough able members to help cut and deliver it. Some wood we sell and the income from this goes to local people in need or provides support for young people.

As a club we are not alone in this predicament. It is basically a worldwide phenomenon. Local service clubs struggle to be viable. The new generation of potential members are often time poor and not able to give commitment to voluntary institutions.

So, we are creating a “Friends of Lions” group within our club. We are receptive to being contacted.

No need to belong to the club. If you think you can help us, we would be extremely grateful.

Let us know. Give Max or John a call. We’d love to hear from you.
