When I arrived home on Friday, there were three large containers of coat-hangers on my back porch. I think it was possibly Rose who went searching the op shops to find them. We were donated several more clothes racks so hence the need for more hangers
This made me think of the generosity of everyone who makes this happen. St Andrew’s Church makes the hall available and doesn’t say “How can we make this a fund-raiser?”, Polly, Annie and Lynne who give their time to help setup and to be there on the day, Janet who despite only arriving in on the Friday from Australia, came on Saturday because we were short of helpers, and the two teenage guys who came and helped clear the hall at the end. Also Dean and Ronnie who have made needed repairs to the clothes racks.
And when I look at the photos I took everyone is so happy with the clothes they have found.
How about the person who tried on a pair of sneakers, left the ones she was wearing and wore the new ones home? Or the lady who donated a dress, changed her mind, came back half an hour later to retrieve it, but too late it had gone…..
We now have some jewellery that has been donated.
