Community responds atlittle Indie fund-raisers

By Angela Brown July 2025

Cool Change was recently bursting at the seams with Music Quizzers raising funds to support local little girl Indie Farrell, supporting getting her to Australia for Intensive Therapy.

Quizmaster Mike Terry did an amazing job – creating and presenting a plethora of music questions.  Suitably attired in some rather tight denims – I think he is still singing like a Jersey Boy – not sure if he was Walking Like a Man in his restricting pants.

The ever-gorgeous Meg Barnham was the MC, lighting up the room with her colourful outfit and beautiful smile.

Indies mum Toni sent a heartfelt message which reminded everyone of the purpose of the evening – to come together to offer our love and support and to raise funds.

Jimmy and his team ensured no one was thirsty
and even gave out free desserts to help keep the brain cells nourished.

Spot prizes and raffles were all donated as were the awards for the winners. First Prize went to The Wild Boys plus Electric Barberella Team – (if you know where the name comes from maybe you should enter a Music Quiz)

Too many sponsors and supporters to list but thank you to every one who donated a prize, offered time, gave money directly to the Givealittle page, attended the quiz and supported our raffle.

The Martinborough Community is so generous: you have bought an astounding 700 raffle tickets!!  Greenlees Print in Masterton generously printed the raffle books free of charge.

The total amount that is needed to get Indie to her therapy in Australia is $60,000 – the balance is currently sitting at $45,000. Latest fund-raising: The Community Market Tea Rooms $1200; Quiz/Auctions/Raffle Ticket Sales $5000!!!

This is so much more than raising funds, in Toni’s words “it’s a symbol of hope. It reminds us that we are not alone on this journey – that behind every tough day, there are people lifting us up, helping us carry the weight and reminding us to keep fighting.  Every donation, every kind word, every moment you spend helping – it matters.”

It is not too late to donate, every dollar is a step closer to reaching the target, through:  https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/supporting-the-gorgeous-indie-on-her-intensive
