Living with Parkinson’s needs YOU

Mar 2025

Most of us will have seen the WW1 posters of Lord Kitchener with the catch phrase “Your country needs you”. There was also an American “Uncle Sam” version. Although we are not going to war, those with Parkinson’s and their families face individual battles each day, Parkinson’s Wairarapa notes.

Wairarapa has a great support system and a band of loyal volunteers providing a variety of activities each week, plus regular support meetings.

Having a strong positive attitude is one of the best ways to cope with Parkinson’s. Another is to learn as much as possible about this condition. To do this Parkinson’s Wairarapa is wanting to provide regular Living Positively with Parkinson’s seminars.

We are looking for enthusiastic superstars who are willing to give some of their time, energy and expertise to help support those living with Parkinson’s in the Wairarapa.

Are you interested in working for a good cause? Would you like to make a tangible difference?

Are you able to help organise these seminars (identify topics, source speakers, find suitable venues)?

You don’t necessarily need to be associated with Parkinson’s, you just need to be interested in helping affected people receive the support and information they need to get the most out of their Parkinson’s journey.

If you feel you do have a couple of hours a month to spare and are keen to lend a hand, then please contact us to discuss further: wai.parkinsons@gmail.com and 027-264-8623
