Martinborough’s skies will once again be filled with bright colours as the Wairarapa Balloon Festival returns this Easter,
17 – 21 April.
A breathtaking morning lift-off and ascension is scheduled for Martinborough, where dozens of hot air balloons will take off from the town at sunrise on Easter Sunday, 20 April.
Weather permitting, the balloons will float gracefully over the town centre creating a picture-perfect start to the day.
“Martinborough’s wide-open spaces and stunning vineyard surroundings provide an incredible backdrop for the festival. It’s always a crowd favourite, and we’re looking forward to another unforgettable event,” said event director Jennifer Anderson.
The highlight of the festival, the newly named Family Carnival, will be at Solway Showgrounds the day prior, from 3:00 p.m. on Saturday 19 April.
This five-hour event offers balloon walk-throughs, face painting, balloon twisting, Ferris Wheel, merry-go-round, live music from The Noodles, an easter egg hunt for kids, and gourmet street food.
Tickets for the Family Carnival are available now, including family passes for $70 plus fees (two adults and up to three children).Under fives are free.
