Singing, playing or listening to music may prove a substantial boost to health related quality of life according to a systematic review and meta analysis of twenty six studies by researchers from the University of New South Wales.

The team found that music provides clinically significant improvement in mental health over time. They suggest that changes in meta; health quality of life were around the same level as exercise and weight loss, suggesting that more research is needed to clarify the best way to harness the power of music.
