Life Flight’s Westpac Rescue Helicopter has flown to the Wairarapa nine times so far this month (between 1 Feb and 21 Feb). That’s an average of three times per week.
Three of the responses were for urgent medical reasons. The remaining were accident or search & rescue, including a challenging winch rescue of a Dutch couple from the Putangirua Pinnacles.
