Tennis Club Astro turf project

May 2016

The Martinborough Lawn Tennis Club is embarking on its biggest redevelopment project for 20 years; resurfacing the 2 astro courts and installing court lighting.

This is a tennis club project with full ownership and control staying with the club. However to increase the use of the courts and open up sporting opportunities in the town, the court set up will be such that both netball and hockey will be able to use them through the winter months.

The total cash outlay for the project is $100,000. Fundraising has been very successful, with the total amount raised so far standing at $90,000. $50,000 of this has been from Community Trusts and the Martinborough Community Board. The remaining $35,000 is from the clubs own reserves which were boosted by funds raised at the Over The Hill Tournament.
To get the project over the line however we require the final $15,000 and are appealing to friends of the tennis club to support this project with a personal donation. Interesting enough when the astro courts were put in during the 1990’s a similar donation pledge was made with the names of the generous donors showing on a board in the club house. A similar recognition will be made for this project, as we are sure that the great support shown then will be reflected today.

Any donation is gratefully accepted, but to make it easier we’ve set three levels:
Gold – $1,000 Silver – $500 Bronze – $250
However any donation will be gratefully received. Bronze – $250

If you would like to support us with this project please either fill out the pledge form on http://www.martinboroughtennisclub.co.nz or email us on martinboroughtennis@gmail.com Thank You.
