Boutique Martinborough winery, Alexander Vineyard, has just scooped 2 Gold medals for its pinot noir wines in the 2015 New Zealand International Wine Show where over 2,100 wines were entered.
The Gold medals were for their Alexander Martinborough Pinot Noir 2014 and Alexander Dusty Road Pinot Noir 2014, a remarkable 100% success rate as these were the only two wines that Alexander Vineyard submitted to the show.
The Owners/Winemakers, Michael Finucane and Roz Walker, made the two wines in their new Martinborough winery at Hinakura Road, where work is underway to open a small cellar door later in the year.
Roz Walker, added “We are delighted with the news that both our pinot noirs achieved this accolade. The 2014 vintage was particularly good and the wines are not only looking excellent now but will continue to improve in the future.”
