Winter is well and truly here but we at Wharekaka have been as busy as ever. In the past few months the residents have enjoyed music from JNX and Lance Naysmith, visits from Arbor House, D.O.T Kids and the New Entrants from Martinborough School.
Indoor activities such as cardmaking, baking, quizzes and games have helped us keep the cabin fever at bay as the colder weather keeps us indoors!
A big thank you to Ann Nielsen who has stepped in as our activities coordinator while I have been away. She has run a wonderful programme of activities the highlights of which include a fantastic mid-winter lunch and the very sucessful Pink Ribbon morning tea which raised over $300 dollars.
Auxiliary News
Most recently the auxiliary took our residents out for a drive along Ward’s line stopping at the home of the Major’s to listen to them play some beautiful music and admire the views from the comfort of their home. The residents thoroughly enjoyed this outing so thank you to the Major’s for welcoming us into their home once again.
