In spite of the rain, bridge closures, floods and mud, we were delighted to see over 1000 people venture out in support of the Martinborough Business Association’s ‘A Midwinter Affair’ market last Saturday.
72 dedicated stallholders found their way to the Square. Delicious food and drink options and a good variety of high quality goods were for sale.
“What an awesome event!!! We loved being part of it and were so impressed with the number of people that came along to support it even though the rain didn’t stop and they had to walk through mud. Yes, our coats were popular, but we promise we didn’t do a rain dance! See you next year.” OTT Designer Coats
“Thank you for organising such a great wee market. Despite the weather so many showed up to support! What a neat community.” Emma Kelly
Thank you to all the stallholders, helpers and committee members who set up and hosted the market in support of Gretchen Saulbrey and Nichola Adams (event managers). A very big thank you to the musicians (Sam Cooke, Dale & Deidre, and The Martinborough Community Choir), who generously donated their talents to entertain us, and to Pete Monk and Brooke Hoskins for taking photos in such trying circumstances. Thank you to our generous sponsors, Trust House, Genesis, the Martinborough Community Board and WBS.
At the end of a long, damp day we may have stood in ankle-high mud, soaked through, but we were smiling. We hope to see you all again in the Square next year.
