Children’s Reading Programme. Winter Warmers is under way again. This year we are hunting the Moa around NZ. To help us on the way we have String Bean Puppets visiting us again, Mon 6 July 1.00pm in the Green Room at the Town Hall. A great opportunity to be entertained and make your own puppet.
Once again we are immensely grateful to the Eastern and Central Community Trust for funding the reading programmes. We are still really busy at the library and really have to thank all those lovely people who are donating books to us as well as those who are utilizing the magazine bring and swap trolley.
Also a great thanks to our regular Volunteer workers : Adrienne, Maureen and Rose. Happy holidays to the children and a reminder that the library is always lovely and warm! Shirley

The Time Wardens
Ella gazed out the window, to freedom, to life. Away from this dreadful place. Ella Gastrula is a young orphan hoping for freedom. Away from dreadful Miss Telfergerlia and the other kids at the orphanage. Life is horrible. One day a strange woman appears at the doorstep. Asking to adopt Ella. At first life seems okay. Nice woman, good food, friends. All that Ella could wish for. Until the secret is spoken. She is a Time Warden.
THE THIRTEENTH CHILD
The thirteenth child is a captivating young adult book. It shows the reader a magical America, a place were danger lurks and dragons roam. This amazing fantasy book has a sense of real life, with a special spell cast over it, giving it a ”WOW” bit of magic. With resilience, love, family, and friendship all packed in one, this book is a real must-read.
The fairies of evergreen grove
Allen is not generally happy with moving to Evergreen grove. Until she finds the fairies. Deep inside a magic willow tree is hidden four fairies. Sunshine, Ivy, Petunia, and Silvia are on a quest to save their world from complete ruin. And they need help. Along with the Allen, they begin their journey to save fairyland. Can they do it?
