Despite the weather gods trying to foil our event, the annual 1st church Midwinter Monster Book Fair was a resounding success. Obviously book lovers are a hardy lot who are prepared to brave torrential rain and floods to get their fix.
As usual there are many people whose time and efforts go into making this the success that it is.. They come from all corners of the community and we couldn’t do without them.
The Friday evening event was great fun with speaker Alice Arndell enthralling us with secrets of reality television and hints on how to improve our baking. We were fascinated to find out that her degree in Criminology is an asset to her authorship skills!! Who knew?!
Once again many thanks to those who donated books, sorted books, did baking, volunteered during the weekend and gave time to do the million other jobs that need doing to make and event like this run so smoothly.
