Wharekaka Fun

July 2014

June has been the month of getting out and about for our Wharekaka residents.

You may have seen us having our “Lad’s Lunch Out” in the square or perhaps spotted some of us at the Martinborough Library. If you walked past Fox Organics on the second Wednesday of the month you may even have seen some of our residents being treated to a professional manicure!

Our most recent outing was to Carter Court Rest Home in Carterton for a friendly game of Boccia, a sport a little like bowls. The residents thoroughly enjoyed getting the opportunity to meet some new people as well as catch up with a few old acquaintances.  Thanks to Carter Court for having us, we look forward to repaying the favour sometime soon.
If you see us out and about why not come over for a chat, or if you have a wonderful place you think we might like to visit please call our Activities Co-ordinator Jemma on 06)3068701.

Auxiliary News
The Auxiliary held an ‘Antiques Road Show’ for residents and guests in June. Thanks go to Daphne Giesler from Vintage Treasures who entertained us with anecdotes and examples from her lovely antiques store in Martinborough.

All older Martinborough residents are welcome to come to the Auxiliary events on the second Tuesday of the month. We are hosting a viewing of the new dining room on Tuesday 8th of July. Please let us know if you can come by phoning Helen Meehan on 306 9074 or Barbie Cox on 306 9934 for catering purposes. We look forward to seeing you there.? ?Staff
