Public Invite to an Interesting Weekend!

Jun 2014

Brackenridge is the venue for the Annual Lower North Island Regional Conference of Rural Women New Zealand. The local Martinborough Branch of RWNZ will host members from as far afield as Taranaki, Taihape and the Lower Hawkes Bay. It is to be held the weekend of 21st-22nd June and promises to be an informative, educational and entertaining weekend.

RWNZ are keen to open our Saturday afternoon and Sunday Morning sessions up to the public as we think our speakers and workshops will be of interest to so many people.

Our Saturday Afternoon starts at 1.30pm with Paddy Twist presenting “Sorting the Wood from the Trees” and giving us all a few tips on how to use the media effectively. Paddy will also run one of three choices of workshops. The other two choices are “It’s Ok to ask” with Julie Warner covering Mental Health and the rural sector.

Lastly Carolyn Nicol will do Flowers without Fuss which speaks for itself. Heather Atkinson will close out the afternoon session speaking on the South Wairarapa Diversity Group.
Our Sunday line up kicks off at 9.15am Keiko Nojima waking up with Tai Chi. Following on with this is Christine Barnett a local Archaeologist speaking on “History around us”. After morning tea Fran Wilde with tell us all about her “Life in Politics” followed by our conference closing.

These two sessions are $20 each and include either morning or afternoon tea. There is a two course dinner on Saturday evening at a cost of $50 with a cash bar. The popular Jared Guilan will be the after dinner speaker on his book and blog “Moon over Martinborough”.
We really think there is something for everyone here and hope that members of the public will be enticed to come. If you are and want more details please contact Janice Mills 307 8895 or Carolyn Nicol 306 6334
